New Video: Club 8 "Western Hospitality"

Club 8 "Western hospitality" from Labrador Records on Vimeo.

And let the rant begin...We are all busy. Yes. And in this increasing world of mobile devices and 140 character terse phrases, I need not tell you our (the consumer and interpreter) attention spans are dwindling. Certain areas of the music industry are suffering from this quick-hit digital shift, attempting to reform their ways to better compete. However, there is something to be said for sticking to your guns and continuing to work at a high-level of excellence...Force Field PR (home to: Neon Indian, KISSES, Toro Y Moi, Dan Deacon, Vivian Girls, Ariel Pink...our entire blog) is doing just this. This leads me to the post in question: a new video and MP3 from Sweden's Club 8 -- their newest album, The People's Record drops today in Sweden/certain areas of Europe and May 18 in the states;  both releases are via Labrador. Force Field had this to say which sold me:

Sweden's Club 8 is commonly recognized for their personal blend of melancholic, dreamy and irresistibly catchy style of pop [which] has been a forerunner for bands like Camera Obscura, jj, and Kings of Convenience. The People's Record marks the beginning of a new epoch... The result is unique mix of Swedish pop melodies and African rhythms - undoubtedly one of the most unique, captivating and catchiest pop records of the year!
