So, dig this picture for a second, then listen to the mp3. This sort of distorted, hazy, summer-pop seems something more along the lines of Real Estate than the darkly clad Philly band Cold Cave. Cold Cave is a mish-mash of musicians including ex-Xiu Xiu member Caralee McElroy, Max G. Morton, . Benoit, and Dominick Fernow. Their LP Love Comes Close is out now, but don't expect the whole thing to sound this bright. These musicians are known for their darker synth-pop (a la Joy Division/New Order), but you can be assured their sense of melody will still be intact.
