The band Discovery has been a pleasant (err umm) discovery since their debut LP LP arrived in our box yesterday. Ok, that was bad. Really. Moving along. Discovery is the side project of Vampire Weekend's Rostram and Wes from Ra Ra Riot. We can safely say that their project doesn't really sound like any of the above bands. LP is awash in keys, synth, distored electronic vocals, blips bleeps and drum machines. Needless to say, Discovery also filled this album with some damn catchy melodies. If you're getting a hint of Dirty Projectors, that would be the guest vocals from Angel Deradoorian. Ezra Koening of Vampire also guests here. There are tasty tunes sprawled throughout this record - we have "Orange Shirt" above for your sampling pleasure. LP comes out July 7th on XL.
